Sorry it took me so long to write this post. i do miss blogging just that I can’t find time to write posts and images.

Was in Perth in Sept and Persis & Cass kindly hosted me at their place. These 2 were so sweet to spend time with us touring Perth and bringing us to awesome places for superbly great food.

My sister joined me at this trip, as it was also her 21st birthday. A good change for a birthday treat instead of chalets and big cakes with 21 on it. We went really budget for this trip, as we took Jetstar at SGD200 per person for a return flight to Perth. Flight there was pretty boring as there were no inflight entertainment, food was cold, seat was unhappening, but it was worth the price. We had 3 seats to ourselves as we had booked our seats before the flight, so we had ample space to move about. 

Upon reaching Perth at around midnight, we had ‘limousine airport transfer’ and ‘checked-in’ at Persis’s humble abode, shared with 5 other girls. It was crowded but very cosy.

Day 1 was all about Fremantle. Persis drove us to Freo (short for Fremantle) and we had the best fish & chips I ever ate at Cicerello’s. Everything was yummy and kept us full for a while as the portions were pretty big for 4 girls.

The day went past quickly after Fremantle market, Fremantle Prison and we tried Churros with 3 different types of chocolate when we were tired from walking. Although it was the start of spring, it still felt like winter and we warmed ourselves with beer at Little Creatures (a drinking spot my aussie colleague recommended me). great beer, not too gassy and the crowd was chill and happening. The pizza-making guys were cute but we didn’t order any because we were heading to Concas’ for some yummy chilli mussels!

Day 2 was to Swan Valley (a smaller version of Margaret River) for brunch at Edgecombe Brothers. Prawn paste, egg on toast, muscat ice-cream with home-made grape juice under a sunny afternoon in a cool vineyard, what more can one ask for? We went for Mondo nougats, Cuddly Animal Farm, Margaret River chocolate factory, Lavender cafe and Lancaster vineyard. After a home-made steamboat with Persis room-mates, we went over to Alex’s place for fondue and wine, and a special surprise to the newly 21 girl, which is my sister!

We visited the beach on Day 3 and went Garden City for some shopping. It was a day to be a child again as we played at the swings, running around the supermarket for grocery shopping,  jumping at a park and ate alot of chicken & solo.

Last day in Perth was spent at Sportsgirl, Supre, Forever New, Valley Girl, Harbour Town for factory outlet shopping. Perth CBD area is not very big, only maybe half of Orchard Road. Shopping in SG is definitely more interesting but given all the Sale signs, how could we resist? Sweet Cass was so nice to walk everywhere with us. We also found alot of nice orange ‘display’ at enex100, which is very cool mall where we discovered Kikki K. a really cool upscale stationery shop. They also just opened a new outlet at ION Orchard, Singapore!

ciao italia - yummiest italian food i ever had

What I love: the cool late winter / early spring weather, though I had to get used to sleeping and showering in a really cold room; the company of my dearest girl friends, Persis - a girl since I know since I was 17 and Cass - my excolleague from Meritus Mandarin in 2006. They both took such good care of me and my sister and drove us to many places; pigging myself out at all the fantastic eating places, like Ciao Italia, Concas, Circerello’s, Little Creatures; the fact that it was my 1st trip overseas with my younger sister. She is a great travelling companion and we were having so much fun together.

Other than that, colleagues are great people to go to gym with after work. especially when it is a free trial.

Tonight’s yogilates is good exercise. I found new muscles in my shoulders. hee

Can’t stop laughing as I watched this latest korean drama, which is a mix between Coffee Prince, Boys over Flowers and Skip Beat.

In short, story is about an idol boyband which was initally made up by 3 members and has a latest addition of a female crossdresser who was formally a nun. Sounds silly? It is! but not idiotic or stupid. This drama has plenty of eye candy (Jung Geun-Seok!) and when Park Shin Hye (the female in the band) speaks in Korean, she melts my heart because it doesn’t sound like the usual rough way that Koreans speak in, instead very gentle and demure (probably due to the fact she used to be a nun)

HK in the summer feels as humid as Singapore, crowded and sweaty. But it’s also a very vibrant and upbeat city where people stay up late, drink and be merry. Had an interesting time in HK bonding with my new and overseas colleagues over food, drinks and endless constructive meeting.

Highlights of the trip: the food, the drinks, the people from all over the world, the lovely Lanson Place which we stayed in, the various mode of transport in HK and most importantly, the shopping! only at sale with a limited budget. but nonetheless I got myself some great buys like my red trenchcoat, and pink sneakers!
